Hazardous Material Disposal
Scott and Rock Island County residents are encouraged to drop off household hazardous waste and medical sharps safely at our location at the Scott Area Recycling Center, 5640 Carey Ave, Davenport. This service is free of charge and doesn’t require an appointment.
What can I drop off?
Items such as paints, pesticides and cleaners, motor oil, oil filters, and antifreeze are accepted. Scott County Residents can click here to search for more recycling and disposal information.
Product Reuse
We believe in recycling and reusing as much material as possible. We sort and prepare about 25 percent of the material we receive from residents and businesses.
Our product reuse area has many household products and paints free for residents. Inventory changes daily and is dependent upon materials received.
Residents are invited to take, free of charge, automotive, home improvement, paint-related, household, and lawn/garden products. Each household is allowed 15 items per calendar month.
