Hazardous Waste
Waste Commission of Scott County is able to accept hazardous waste from businesses determined to be a Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG). A VSQG is a business that generates no more than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month and stores no more than 2,200 pounds on-site at any one time.
As a Regional Collection Center in the State of Iowa, the HHM Facility will collect, transport, store, and dispose of hazardous material in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. If you have questions about hazardous waste or how to determine your hazardous waste generator status, staff at the Waste Commission of Scott County are available to help answer your questions.
Disposal Requirements
Before the Commission may accept hazardous waste:
- A Certification Form must be completed by the customer and emailed to hazmgmt@wastecom.com prior to the hazardous waste arriving for disposal.
- Appointments for drop-off must be scheduled via phone or email. Typically, appointments are made Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Optional: VSQG Shipping Paper for proper transportation of hazardous waste.
