Directions: See map. The Scott Area Landfill is located on County Road Y-48 three miles south of Highway 61 (West River Drive). From Davenport, take River Drive west past the I-280 interchange to the next intersection with a stoplight. Turn left (south) onto Y-48 and the Landfill is 3 miles down on the left hand side of the road.
Hours: Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. From Memorial Day until Labor Day, the Landfill has extended hours (until 6 p.m.) on Monday evenings. You must be in and unloaded by closing time.
Scott Area Landfill is open to residents and businesses that generate waste in Scott County, Iowa only.
ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL  FEE
 Regular garbage  $24/ton
 Construction & Demolition debris  $25/ton
 Loads weighing less than 2,000 lbs (net):
     > Material that would fit in one garbage can  $8
     > All other vehicles  $25
 Appliances (refrigerators and freezers must be empty).

 Ammonia Units out-of-county  $50
 Tires from Scott County residents (5 car tires per year).

 Scrap Metal  No charge

Rules:
* All loads must be tarped or tied down.
* Waste generated outside Scott County will not be accepted.
* No liquids or hazardous waste such as paint or pesticides.
* Yard waste material such as grass, leaves and logs must go to the Davenport Compost Facility.
* Electronic waste such as computers and TVs must go to the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility.

MATERIALS ACCEPTED FOR RECYCLING AT THE LANDFILL:
Asphalt shingles (clean) Accepted for a reduced fee.
Automotive (lead-acid) batteries Accepted during regular hours of operation at no charge.
Household (alkaline) batteries Can be safely put in your garbage.
Oil, oil filters & antifreeze Up to 25 gallons per month of used motor oil, antifreeze and drained oil filters can be recycled at no charge. If you have more than 25 gallons call 381-1300 for assistance.
Rechargeable batteries Accepted at all Waste Commission facilities during normal business hours at no charge, or by appointment through the Household Hazardous Material Program.

Recyclables A drop-off recycling container is available for items that can be recycled through Scott County's curbside programs.

Hauling: Waste Commission of Scott County does not provide hauling services. Local businesses offering these services are listed under “Garbage and Rubbish Collection” in the Yellow Pages.
