Garbage Collection: Allied Waste picks up on Fridays.

Recycling Collection: Same day as garbage, every other week. Resident must obtain Recycle Bin from City Hall – at no charge. Participation is mandatory.  See acceptable items.

Holidays:
Allied Waste recognizes six major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage collection will run one day late for all communities that have collection on or after holiday during the holiday week.

Appliances and Bulky Waste: Hauler accepts for a per item fee. Call City Hall for collection.

Electronic Waste Recycling: Residents may take items to the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility for recycling at no charge.

Household Hazardous Materials: Residents may take items to Waste Commission of Scott County, by appointment, at no charge. See Scott Area Household Hazardous Material Facilities.

Cleanup Days/Weeks: One day in spring (to be announced).

Tires: Tires may be taken to Scott Area Landfill.

Christmas Trees: Call City Hall for collection.

Brush and Tree Trimmings: Property owner’s responsibility.

Grass and Leaves: May be burned or taken to the Davenport Compost Facility.

Motor Oil: Oil may be taken to the Scott Area Landfill or Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling.

Burning Regulations: Lawn waste and trimmings only may be burned on property that is its place of origin.
