Garbage Collection: Allied Waste picks up on Mondays.
Recycling Collection: Allied Waste picks up every other week on Mondays. See
acceptable items.
Holidays: Allied Waste recognizes six major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage collection will run one day late for all communities that have collection on or after holiday during the holiday week.
Appliances: Property owner's responsibility. Items may be taken to Waste Commission of Scott County. See
Scott Area Landfill.
Electronic Waste Recycling: Residents may take items to the
Electronic Demanufacturing Facility for recycling at no charge.
Household Hazardous Materials: Residents may take items to Waste Commission of Scott County, by appointment, at no charge. See
Scott Area Household Hazardous Material Facilities.
Bulky Waste: Allied Waste picks up on the last Monday of each month.
Cleanup Days/Weeks: None
Tires: May be taken to
Scott Area Landfill.
Brush, Tree Trimmings, Grass and Leaves: No city arrangements. May be taken by homeowner to the
Davenport Compost Facility.
Christmas Trees: Picked up on regular garbage day in the first couple of weeks in January.
Motor Oil: Oil may be taken to the
Scott Area Landfill or
Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling.
Burning Regulations: Only material grown on the property can be burned if it is not creating a nuisance.
