Garbage Collection: Consumer Waste picks up on Mondays.

Recycling Collection: Curbside on the last Saturday of the month by a private hauler. See acceptable items.

Holidays: Consumer Waste recognizes six major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage collection will run one day late for all communities that have collection on or after holiday during the holiday week.

Appliances, Bulky Waste, Tires: Call Consumer Waste at 289-5003.

Electronic Waste Recycling: Residents may take items to the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility for recycling at no charge.

Household Hazardous Materials: Residents may take items to Waste Commission of Scott County, by appointment, at no charge. See Scott Area Household Hazardous Material Facilities.

Spring Cleanup Days: To be announced.

Brush, Tree Trimmings, Christmas Trees, Grass and Leaves: Property owner’s responsibility. Contact Eddie Spengler at 843-2374 for information regarding disposal at city burn pile.

Motor Oil: Oil may be taken to the Scott Area Landfill or Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling.

Burning Regulations: Leaves may be burned Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No grass burning allowed. Fires cannot be left unattended. No burning if it bothers someone.
